Wash the fennel, cut off the green stems and external leaves. Cut into quarters. Cut each quarter vertically into four slices and put them in an oiled baking pan.
Cut the leak into thin slices and put into the pan. Sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Bake in preheated 180° C (356 F) oven 25-30 minutes. Fennel should be tender but still firm.
